Information Technology

The IT Committee at MakeICT is responsible for keeping our digital and technological infrastructure running smoothly. This committee manages the behind-the-scenes systems that keep MakeICT connected — from the website, forum, and wiki to in-house computers and badge access. The team maintains software on servers, authorizes access to Google resources, and oversees the creation of makeict.org email accounts. They also care for our classroom laptops, projectors, printers, and networking equipment, ensuring reliable WiFi and secure access throughout the building. In short, the IT Committee ensures MakeICT’s technology is functioning properly, allowing members and areas to focus on making, learning, and creating.

Wood Shop

The Woodshop at MakeICT is a two-room workspace designed for everything from rough lumber prep to fine woodworking. The first room houses heavy-duty stationary tools like table saws, jointers, planers, and bandsaws, while the second focuses on refinement with lathes, hand tools, and a ShopBot CNC router.

Visual Arts

The Visual Arts Studio at MakeICT is a flexible, creative space for exploring traditional and contemporary art forms. Located in Classroom 1, this area supports a wide variety of mediums including painting, drawing, calligraphy, sculpture, resin, papercraft, and general crafts.

Textiles

The Textiles Studio is MakeICT’s space for fabric arts, sewing, quilting, and fiber creativity. Located in Room 8, it’s outfitted with a wide range of tools including domestic sewing machines, sergers, industrial machines, an embroidery setup, and even a Gammill longarm quilting machine.

Stained Glass

The Stained Glass Studio is where art and light come together at MakeICT. Located in Classroom 1 alongside Visual Arts, the space is equipped with glass cutters, foiling tools, pliers, and work surfaces for building colorful windows, panels, and decorative pieces.

Screen Printing

The Screen Printing Studio is MakeICT’s creative space for turning designs into bold prints on paper, fabric, and more. Equipped with a 4-head press, exposure table, flash dryer, washout booth, and drying racks, the studio is set up for everything from experimenting with single prints to running small production runs of shirts and posters.

Metal Shop

The Metal Shop at MakeICT is a dual workspace with both hot and cold areas—perfect for projects that range from fine machining to heavy fabrication.

Jewlery

The Jewelry Lab at MakeICT is a creative space for working with precious and non-ferrous metals, glass, and other materials to design one-of-a-kind pieces.

Garden

The MakeICT Garden is a vibrant outdoor space where members can dig in the dirt, grow fresh food, and learn about sustainable gardening.

FabLab

The FabLab is MakeICT’s hub for digital fabrication and rapid prototyping, where ideas leap off the screen and into the real world.

Electronics

The Electronics and Rapid Prototyping lab is MakeICT’s playground for tinkerers, inventors, and curious minds.

Ceramics

Get your hands muddy and your creativity flowing in MakeICT’s Ceramics Studio! With over 1,100 square feet split between a main work area and a dedicated kiln room, this space is designed for both beginners and experienced potters alike. Whether you want to spin clay on the wheel, hand-build a sculptural masterpiece, roll out slabs for tiles and boxes, or experiment with glaze layering, the possibilities are endless.
